Wayuvega – A Custom Shopify App for Real-Time OMS Order Sync (Built with Remix)

Managing high volumes of orders manually across eCommerce platforms and back-end systems often leads to fulfillment delays, errors, and inventory mismatches. Wayuvega identified the need for a real-time solution that automates the flow of order data from Shopify to an external Order Management System (OMS). To meet this demand, we built a custom Shopify app using Remix — a modern web framework built for fast, scalable, and dynamic applications.

The core objective was to build a Shopify app that listens to orders in real-time and pushes them into the client’s OMS, handling complex data mappings, retries, and edge cases. It needed to:

• Instantly capture new, updated, or cancelled orders
• Convert and map data to OMS-specific fields
• Push orders securely via APIs
• Track sync status with detailed logging
• Offer a clean UI for monitoring sync activity

Using Remix gave us complete control over the server-rendered frontend and reactive backend logic. We designed a Shopify app that integrates with Shopify’s Admin API and Webhooks and communicates with the OMS using secure REST APIs.

With the new Remix-powered Shopify app, Wayuvega enabled its clients to process orders in real-time across multiple sales channels. The system eliminated manual exports, improved inventory accuracy, and reduced order-to-dispatch time by over 60%. The app’s intuitive interface, reliable sync engine, and future-ready architecture made it a foundational tool for scaling D2C operations across India and beyond.
